    1. Interfacial Spin Manipulation at 2D Magnetic Materal Heterojunctions
Manipulation of spin degree of freedom (DOF) of electrons is the fundamental aspect of spintronic and valleytronic devices. Two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides (2D TMDCs) exhibit an emerging valley pseudospin, in which spin-down (-up) electrons are distributed in a +K (?K) valley. This valley polarization gives a DOF for spintronic and valleytronic devices.
The interfacial magnetic exchange field can enhance the interaction of total magnetic moment of electrons with the external magnetic field. The interface physics of 2-D TMDCs with Magnetic monolayer/few layer materials (CrI3, Fe3GeTe2) is a rich field that remains to be explored.

    2. Active Metasurface
Plasmonic arrays have attracted great interest due to their fantastic properties in controlling electromagnetic waves in the applications of light engineering, imaging, and holography. Metasurfaces have been used to control the wavefronts of circularly and linearly polarized light in the visible and near-infrared regions, in which the aligned nanostructures, such as metallic nanorods, V-shapes, and silicon (Si) cut-wire resonators generate abrupt phase changes along the surface. However, it is still a major challenge to realize large-scale active plasmonic arrays operation in the visible optical frequency.
Herein, we demonstrate the inverse manipulation of plasmon resonance in a heterostructure geometry comprising a macroscale Au nanorod monolayer and VO2 films in the visible region. Further, the heterostructures of V shape metasurface and phase change materails (VO2, GST), ITO and semiconductors are studying.
